Instagram Model Says She Owes Her Figure to The Military

An Instagram model taking social media by storm has gotten a lot of attention for her curvy, healthy figure. She says that she is in fantastic shape because of her service in the US Armed Forces. This helped her not only be mindful of her body, but also taught her to have a positive attitude.

Hope Isabel Howard is a former Air Force mechanic who is making a name for herself now as a model. She says she always wanted to be a model, but that dream was slightly derailed when she also decided she wanted to do something meaningful to help others.

Now, she's back on track, and credits her military service for the woman she is today.

"From the age of 5 years old I wanted to be a model," Howard explained on her website. "As I grew older that dream remained but within it something else grew and that was a deep desire to help people. As you can imagine the world of modeling can be very vain and the business of helping people well, it is everything but vain.

I began to have an internal conflict with this and began to lose belief in my dream of ever modeling and started to give up on it."

After graduating high school, instead of looking for a modeling contract, Howard sighed a contract with the US Air Force. She became a Fighter Jet Mechanic and was deployed to Afghanistan at the young age of 19. She says that she had to have an M-16 strapped on her day and night.

"This was both the worst and best experience of my life because I did an immense amount of growing and began to see the world differently," she explains. "Most importantly though I began to dream again and that’s when I started to become more mindful of the food I ate and began focusing on physical training. A fire started to burn inside me and it couldn’t be put out. Lifting weights and eating properly seriously saved my life!"

Howard has proven she is much more than just a pretty face. She's brave, motivated for success, has good head on her shoulders and good values. It's not surprising, then, that she is finding success in this new endeavor.

"I don’t come from privilege and I know what it means to be poor but I’m not embarrassed about it. I’ve had to fight extremely hard to get to where I’m at and I have so much farther to go," she says on her website.

On her Instagram page, she shows off her gorgeous figure and touts her Nutrition Guide to help people get into shape. In addition to her modeling and selling guides to help people get in shape, she offers online personal training. She feels like she's still on that mission to help people.

"I have lost very close loved ones due to disease brought on by unhealthy lifestyles. It makes me very sad when I think of these memories but it also helps fuel my passion to continue what I'm doing now. All I want to do is inspire and motivate others to live a healthy lifestyle while learning to love themselves," she wrote in an Instagram post.
