Indian-American Firearms Instructor Outraged By Racial Profiling

Sim Sangha is a 24-year-old certified firearms instructor who went to a Dick's Sporting Goods store in Fremont, California to purchase ammunition. Yet, it didn't turn out as she had hoped because two officers came knocking on her door just two days later.

This was despite the fact that she had not even purchased any ammo for her rifle. The LAPD aspirant now claims that she was targeted because she is Indian-American.

She told NBC Bay Area "I don't know if it's [because of] my skin color or that I'm Indian. I'm not a Muslim, but even if I were, that's no reason to call police to my home, instantly. They singled me out. They singled me out because of the way I look."

At Dick's, Sangha asked for eight boxes of ammunition for her AR-15. This is the same weapon used by Syed Farook and Tashfeen Malik in the San Bernardino terrorist attack.

A Fremont police spokeswoman says the department does not yet have a defined policy for investigating actions deemed terrorist-related. Although, after the San Bernardino, mass shooting, they are on heightened alert.
