Incarcerated Woman Fears the Worst When She Can't Reach Her Mother or Daughter

According to a Maryville Police Department report, 58-year-old Anette Ineichen was discovered dead in her home Saturday.

It is believed she died of a medical condition and had been deceased for some period of time. Although, her 15-month-old girl was found alone and alive in her crib--she survived for days without food or water.

Police Chief Tony Crisp said the child was brought to a hospital where she was treated for dehydration and lack of food. She has since been released into the care of the Department of Children's Services.

Ineichen's daughter, 28-year-old Tracy Ineichen, shared that her mother had been caring for the child since she was jailed on September 5 on charges of failure to appear and violation of community correction.

Tracy became concerned when she was unable to reach her mother by phone from the Blount County Jail since November 7. That is when Tracy called her boyfriend, Anthony Waldo, to stop by and check on her mother and daughter.

Waldo drove to Shane Drive to find the glass door locked but the wooden door ajar, which made him suspicious. He then could see Tracy's daughter crying in her crib and stretch out his arms. He also saw someone lying motionless on the floor through the crack in the master bathroom door.

He called police around 1:45 p.m., who found Anette Ineichen dead in the bathroom. Crisp said they found her on November 14th. They believe she had been dead between three and five days.

The deceased woman's four large dogs were also found and are now in Anthony Waldo's care. Waldo has been by Brier Rose's hospital bedside since Saturday. He says she is still weak, but her condition has been steadily improving.
