If This Law Passes Men Who Masturbate Could Be Facing These Serious Consequences

A Texas lawmaker proposed an absurd bill that she doesn't expect to ever pass, but she hopes that it does get her point across. The congresswoman feels that the state puts unreasonable restrictions and demands on women seeking abortion, so she wants to help male lawmakers understand. She feels the bill she's offered on men's health issues is comparable.

Rep. Jessica Farrar, a long-time advocate for women's health, introduced a bill in an attempt to show Texas abortion regulations are sexist. The Democrat feels obstacles women in the state face in order to get an abortion are an undue hardship.

"Let's look at what Texas has done to women," Farrar told CNN. "What if men had to undergo the same intrusive procedures?"

To preserve the sanctity of life, Farrar's bill would fine men $100 each time they masturbate.

Women in Texas who are seeking an abortion have to endure a 24-hour waiting period. Farrar's bill would impose a waiting period on men for colonoscopies and vasectomies. Men will also have to wait a day before they can be granted access to Viagra.

The name of the bill is 'A Man's Right to Know Act', a name taken from the mandatory pamphlet, 'A Woman's Right to Know'. The pamphlet publishes outdated studies about abortion and breast cancer having links.

While trying to preserve life in Texas, abortions have become more and more difficult to procure. In some parts of the state, a woman would have to travel over 300 miles to get to the nearest health care facility that would accommodate her. Instead of preserving life, these increasing restrictions have caused the maternal mortality rate to skyrocket.

Farrar's attempt to level the double-standard were mocked by Republican lawmakers. "I'm embarrassed for Representative Farrar. Her attempt to compare to the abortion issue shows a lack of a basic understanding of human biology," said Rep. Tony Tinderholt in a statement.
