Honest Teen Returns Wallet Stuffed With Cash, Is Praised By His Mother

Finding a wallet stuffed with cash can lead to some interesting decisions for the wallet finder. According to Liftbump, this teen didn’t hesitate to make the right call, and his mother couldn’t be any prouder of her son.

Tommy O’Connor, a teenager from Fremont, CA, was visiting a convenience store near his high school when he came across a wallet on the ground.

The teen immediately turned the wallet over to an aide at the school so that they could track down the owner. The wallet was stuffed with cash, but Tommy didn’t hesitate for a second.

“I didn’t count it when I saw it. I just thought it was probably someone’s rent or something,” Tommy says.

Even more heartwarming, Tommy’s family is on a fixed-income. In fact, he didn’t even have money for lunch the day before finding the wallet.

“I’m just doing something I wish everyone else would do,” he explained.

Tommy’s mother, Sherry, heard the news and immediately reached out to her son via text.

“I’m very proud of you son. Ms. Kalra called me. Wow your one in a million. Love you to the moon and back,” Sherry’s text read.

Tommy’s reply: “You should be thanking yourself you raised me.”

The wallet was returned to its rightful owner, a veteran, who provided Tommy with a $50 reward.
