Homeless Man Seeking Leftovers At Chik-Fil-A Gets A Whole Lot More

After taking his young daughter to a ‘Chick-fil-A’ in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, a father has taken to Facebook to post a truly heart-warming story. The father, Joey Mustain, was dining with his daughter when he witnessed the restaurant’s manager generously providing a hot meal for a homeless man who was asking for scraps.

Mr. Mustain was able to show his daughter a true act of kindness when the manager of a ‘Chick-fil-A’ offered the homeless traveler a free, hot meal and prayed with him. Wanting to share the incredible act of generosity, Mr. Mustain took a photo of the pair praying and wrote about the story on Facebook as soon as he got home.

In his post, Mr. Mustain relayed the incredible incident, stating that when his daughter decided to eat her ice-cream in a booth near the drink refreshment area, “a homeless traveler had walked in and asked if they had any extra food. Mud was wet and caked on his well-traveled shoes.

His hair was matted, and his beard wasn’t a statement as much as it was a necessity and a sign that he doesn’t get to shave as often as most people do.”

When Mr. Mustain and his daughter noticed the man, they also noticed that other people in the restaurant steered clear, with the employees reluctantly fulfilling his request to speak to a manager. Despite this, Mr. Mustain stressed that the man never stopped being kind, writing: “he spoke to people who reluctantly spoke back, and he smiled while he waited on a manager.”

When the homeless man was finally able to speak to the manager, Mr. Mustain was surprised when he heard the manager offer the man a full, hot meal, not just the leftover scraps: “All I could pick up on of the conversation was the manager saying that he’d love to give him a full, warm meal. Not just scraps or extras.”

However, the manager of the restaurant had one condition, with Mr. Mustain saying: “the only thing he required was that the man let him pray with him.”

Mr. Mustain was moved by the simple generosity of the manager and was even more surprised when the manager immediately “laid his hand on the man, and proceeded to pray,” instead of “scooting” him to the side or “waiting for things to die down.”

“I heard love in that prayer,” Mr. Mustain confessed. “The homeless man wasn’t some untouchable stain on the business. He was the reason the store opened its doors this morning (or any morning).”

Mr. Mustain was so moved by the incident that he asked his daughter to watch the two men praying. When she asked what was happening, Mr. Mustain explained the manager’s munificence, and she too bowed her head in prayer.

Mr. Mustain was not only inspired by the heart-warming generosity of the ‘Chick-fil-A’ manager, but was also appreciative that his daughter got to learn a valuable life lesson.
