Homecoming King Passes Crown To Friend - Has A Message For BLM

One popular teen in a Fort Worth, Texas high school won the honor of homecoming king, but he wouldn't take it. He thought someone else deserved it even more, so he passed on his crown to a friend.

Max Atkin is a star high school quarterback in his home town, and now he's proven he's also a stellar friend. Atkin and his buddy, K.L. Norwood, were both nominated for homecoming king, but Atkin won the vote. He felt Norwood was more deserving of the crown, however, so at halftime he passed it on.

Norwood, who suffers from cerebral palsy, was the better man. "I think it should've gone to the person who positively uplifts the school and everybody around him," Max said, "and that person is K.L., for sure."

Atkin says he knew Norwood 'wanted that crown more than anything,' so photos show Atkin dramatically kneeling and offering up the crown to his friend. Shocked, Norwood accepted it and the two hugged. The crowd began chanting 'K.L.' and applauded in approval.

"It was absolutely terrific," Norwood said. "I appreciate it."

Now that's friendship for you.
