Here’s Why A Photo Of A Girl Napping Has Gone Viral (Photos)

The United States is a highly multicultural country, and people from hundreds of different nationalities, and with skin color of all tones live in and are citizens of the US. However, despite our long history as a haven for immigrants and the “Melting Pot of the World,” America still suffers from a lot of racism.

Of course, the recent bitter presidential campaign has also led to a notable increase in racial tensions today, with hate crimes of all types up a lot since the presidential election.

The good news is that children often manage to avoid the negative stereotyping that handicaps their parents and neighbors, and enter into friendships with people of other ethnic backgrounds.
The fact that children accept each other regardless of skin should help open adult eyes to the fact that many of the race-related problems in our society really shouldn’t be problems at all.

A recent picture that has gone viral and been shared thousands of times shows more about how to end racism than a thousand word essay. The image comes from the Presbyterian Day School in Clarksdale, Michigan. The amazingly cute pic shows two little girls asleep at nap time, and they are holding each other’s hands. The most eye-catching thing about the pic is that one of
the girls is black, and the other is white.

The church school posted the sweet pic on its Facebook page, and it not surprisingly went viral in just a few hours.

"We could all learn lessons from our children," poster Vickie Fischer noted about the pic.

"I love that children do not love by skin color, but rather from their heart," Susan Bower Hare commented.

The touching photograph of the two sleeping girls has a caption that includes a thoughtful bible verse. The post has received hundreds of positive comments expressing hope for racial harmony among future generations of Americans.
