Her Son Had Drug Debt, Thugs Break In And Do Unthinkable To Grandmother's Face

An elderly woman, a grandmother in a wheelchair, was left on life support after a brutal attack. Her son owed money to his drug dealer, so the drug dealer attacked the woman and hit her in the head nine times with a baseball bat. The photos of her condition are shocking.

Barbara Dransfield, 64, suffered such a brutal beating that nearly every bone in her face was broken. She had a fractured skull, facial fractures and was in a coma for two weeks.

Dransfield's son, Daniel, got a text message from his disgruntled drug dealer in the days leading up to the attack. "Answer your phone, stop making it worse for yourself. You’re going to get yourself hurt badly. You have crossed the wrong guy," one text read.

"I will have the last laugh," read another. Then just four days before the attack, a text read, "my guys off to your mam’s now."

Mrs. Dransfield, who has a prosthetic leg, was home asleep when she was woken up to terrible banging in the wee hours of the morning. The woman wheeled herself out of the bedroom to check on things when she encountered two men in dark clothes and masks. One had a baseball bat, the other had a knife.

Dransfield was beaten as the men demanded she hand over the money her son owed. One of the suspects searched the house for money. The older lady kept telling them that she didn't have any money.

The suspects stole a fishing tackle box and a small amount of cash. She said police came and there was blood everywhere. The victim thought she was going to die.

"The pain I suffered was was absolutely excruciating and my husband says I look like I’ve done 10 rounds with Mike Tyson," she explains. "I remember everything that happened. I remember every crack I got."

Stephen Mortin, 23, is the one who wielded the bat. Daniel owed Mortin $125 for marijuana. When he was found guilty in court, he shook his head.

"You are shaking your head but I’m nodding mine. You are going to prison for a very long time. I have grave concerns for you, you should fear the worst in custody," said the judge.

Nathan Clark, 24, pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit robbery.
