He Was Facing Execution, Begged For Untested Fingerprints To Be Tested - Results Are In

Marlon Kiser was convicted and sentenced for the murder of Hamilton County Deputy Donald Bond back in 2003, and he recently came across some information that he thought might lead to his acquittal. According to the Times Free Press, it looks like he would have been better off keeping that information to himself.

He has continually maintained his innocence throughout the case, and points the finger at his former roommate, Mike Chattin. Kiser contends that Chattin framed him for the murder, and he’s been petitioning the court to hear some new evidence that might clear things up.

Kiser’s attorneys included a request in the petition that fingerprints that were found on Bond’s flashlight and car door be submitted for consideration, as they were previously untested. Apparently Kiser and the attorneys didn’t think this strategy all the way through.

The prints would turn out to be Kiser’s, and they would even be the first fingerprint evidence that directly linked him to the scene of the crime. Fibers from Bond’s clothing were traced back to Kiser in the initial trial.
