Doctor Accused Of Giving Plan B To Girlfriend After Sex

When you’re in a relationship with someone, there needs to be a certain amount of trust between two people. Unfortunately, there are some people who are just not in the least bit trust-worthy. There are those who will go through any lengths to make sure things go their way, despite the fact that they may be hurting the one they claim they love.

One woman learned that her own boyfriend was doing something so under-handed and deceitful that it has resulted in a lawsuit. It’s going to be hard for her to learn how to trust again after what was done to her.

An ex-girlfriend is alleging that a doctor spiked her drink with an anti-pregnancy drug without her consent, and then later admits that he “did not want” to have a child with her when she found out what he was doing. The former girlfriend has filed a $5 million lawsuit against the doctor who spiked here drink with the Plan B contraceptive on several occasions.

Dr. John Ikechi Nwankwo was dating Hyosun Kim, 26, in the spring of 2016 when “during the course of their romantic relationship, (the couple) routinely engaged in sexual intercourse,” Kim’s lawsuit, filed Friday in Manhattan Supreme Court, alleges.

Kim says she made an alarming discovery on May 21, 2016, “after engaging in unprotected sexual intercourse” with Nwankwo.

The lawsuit claims she “discovered a discarded box from oral contraceptives in Defendant's garbage can, to wit, medication commonly known as the ‘Plan B’ pill”.

Note that the Plan B pill is an over-the-counter medication taken after unprotected sexual intercourse to prevent pregnancy, and is only effective when taken within 72 hours of unprotected sexual intercourse. It’s meant to be a safeguard in case contraception fails, not to be used as a ‘birth control pill’ of sorts.

To some people, Plan B is unethical and against their religious or political beliefs. The way the hormone works is that it prevents fertilization, or prevents a fertilized egg from attaching to the uterine wall. To some people, deliberately causing a fertilized egg to fail to attach is akin to abortion, making the pill extremely controversial.

Kim found the drug and confronted Nwankwo "as she had no ideas where these pills had come from."

She claims that in the ensuing argument, "he revealed to (Kim’s) complete shock that he had deceptively diluted and mixed the Plan B contraceptive pill in (her) beverage because he ‘did not want to her pregnant.’”

Nwankwo declined to comment on the lawsuit, saying he had to speak to his lawyer first.

“This is new to me,” he said.

Kim also alleges Nwankwo “was aware she would never have voluntarily agreed to take the Plan B pill and told her that this was the only way he could get her to ingest some.”

Moreover, when she told him "that she never agreed to take the Plan B pill", he told her "that this was the only way that he could get her to ingest the drug.”

Not surprisingly, Kim ended her relationship with Nwankwo after the incident. She also claims she "was so jarred and upset by the fact that her boyfriend had drugged her that she suffered extreme emotional and mental distress, for which she sought medical treatment.”

According to the lawsuit, Kim is seeking $5 million in damages.
