He Had Troubles With The Mob, So They Gave Him Some Concrete Shoes

When the tide rolls in, you never do know what’s going to be left in its wake on shore. Recently, that phenomenon was demonstrated in disturbing fashion on the rocks outside of Brooklyn’s Kingsborough Community College. As the New York Daily News shares, that’s where the body of a deceased man stuffed in a plastic bag washed up, and he was wearing concrete shoes to boot.

A student at the school saw something curious on the shoreline and went to check it out. He would be incredibly disturbed by his findings, and the authorities were quickly called in. They would arrive to find the dead man, who had not been shot or stabbed - but his hands were tied behind his back. It’s quite clear that someone wanted him to be very dead, and speculation has been rampant ever since.

The man was identified as 28-year-old Peter Martinez, an ex-con from Brooklyn. According to his girlfriend, he “owed a lot of money.” Based on the state he was found in, we’ll assume she wasn’t talking about the bank or cable company. It’s unclear exactly who he owed money to, but based on his checkered past, it appears that he became financially liable to the wrong people.

Reports indicate that he has been arrested a staggering 31 times and that he recently served a two-year stint behind bars for identity theft. We can safely say that he didn’t use his time in prison to come to terms with the fact that he wasn’t doing very good at life.

Police continue to investigate his death, but we won’t hold our breath on them making headway anytime soon. If someone is going to be brazen enough to pour concrete over the deceased man’s feet before stuffing him in a plastic bag and tying his hands behind his back, we’ll assume that they’ve traveled around the block a time or two and know how to cover their tracks.
