Have You Ever Seen A Purple Butterfly Sticker By A New Born? Find Out Its Important Meaning

Sometimes a tragedy can have the unforeseen result of inspiring some real changes and awareness, and that’s exactly what happened to this woman. As shared by Life Aspire, a woman named Millie was tickled when she found out that she would be having twins.

Sadly, one of the babies wouldn’t make it. That lead to an awkward encounter in the neonatal unit with another patient, and Millie couldn’t help but be upset, despite the other patient meaning no harm. The patient had remarked that "You’re so lucky you haven’t got twins."

"None of the other parents knew what had happened or anything about Skye. The comment was completely innocent and more out of humor.... They weren't to know that I did at one point have two," she explains.

That led Millie, with the support of her partner Lewis, to come up with a solution. They devised the little purple stickers that have caught on in neonatal units. Those stickers indicate that the child in the incubator was a part of a multiple pregnancy, but unfortunately not all of the babies survived. The couple has even gone on to start the "Skye High Foundation," to help raise awareness for their cause.

"Ultimately I will never be able to stop this from happening but the more support groups we can set up and put things in place like the stickers the better it will be. It's the hardest thing anyone has to deal with."
