Happy Family Of Four's Cause Of Death Finally Revealed By Authorities

A Virginia man called 911 to report a triple murder and suicide. He told the dispatcher that his wife and two daughters were dead. When he hung up the phone, he killed himself.

Lance Buckley, 35, his wife Amy, 30, and their children Claire, 5, and Abigail, 17 months, were all killed at the hands of Mr. Buckley. The family was living with Mrs. Buckley's parents who were too devastated to comment. Police have not released details about the murder-suicide.

Buckley was a student working towards a Ph.D. in microbiology. Last year he was reported missing just 11 days after youngest daughter Abigail was born. He disappeared from the family's home for more than a week. Mrs. Buckley made a heartfelt, tearful appeal for the safe return of the 'love of her life'.

Buckley was found at the time in Maryland, safe.

"The Stafford County Sheriff’s Office is conducting an investigation into the deaths of four individuals in the Windsor Forest Subdivision in the northwestern portion of the county," said a statement from authorities. "The preliminary investigation has determined the incident was a domestic related murder-suicide."
