Hackers Leak Sensitive Clinton Foundation Information - Campaign Panics

A hacker who posted a large file on Tuesday claims he stole them from the Clinton Foundation. Though the documents are being investigated, it's largely believed to be a hoax.

The anonymous hacker(s) who go by the name of Guccifer 2.0 hacked into the Democratic National Committee computer and leaked the files to WikiLeaks. The files included a list of primary California donors, Republican house members, and screenshots of multiple files.

Documents are believed to have been from a previous Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee hack, not from the Clinton Foundation. The donor list matches the DCCC contributions, but do not match the donor list of the Clinton Foundation.

The Clinton Foundation denies any of the documents come from their files.

This wouldn't be the first time Guccifer 2.0 claimed to have hacked someone, only to have the documents traced back to a previous hack. Last month, Guccifer 2.0 released documents purported to have been hacked from House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.). Those, too, appeared to be from the earlier DCCC hacking.

Guccifer 2.0 is believed to be a cover for Russian intelligence trying to launch a misinformation campaign against the US Government. The hacker claims to be a Romanian acting alone.
