Grandmother Finds Out Teacher Hung Special Needs' Grandson From Chalkboard

Tracy Davis, from Georgia, said that on Thursday the principal at Shoal Creek Elementary School in Conyers found her 5-year-old grandson--who has special needs--hanging from a chalkboard.

Davis said, "He was in distress because he was screaming and hollering." In addition, Davis says the state Division of Family and Children services interviewed the boy and learned this wasn't the first time the teacher had done this.

She also says the school told her it's disciplining two teachers and a paraprofessional because of the incident. Davis says these teachers need more than discipline. She stated, "I don't want those teachers to ever have the privilege to teach again."

Rockdale County Public Schools said in a statement that the district "takes all matters of this kind very seriously and is currently conducting a full investigation." Davis added, "He just said he was sad because you know he was scared, he was only five, and he's hanging from the top of a blackboard."
