Good Samaritans Go Above And Beyond For Teen In Need Of Surgery, Look At Him Now (PHOTOS)

A 13-year-old suffered from a rare condition that weakened his muscles so severely that his head would hang at a 180-degree angle. According to the Daily Mail, the kindness of a stranger sparked a wave of support that led to the boy having life-altering surgery.

Mahendra Ahirwar has congenital myopathy, and numerous doctors in his native India were unable to help him. His parents had nowhere to turn, but that began to change when a stranger from Liverpool, England became aware of the boy’s circumstances.

Julie Jones was heartbroken at Mahendra’s plight, and she took it upon herself to start a crowd-funding page to raise some money for his treatment. The page was a success, and enough money was raised for a spinal surgeon in New Delhi to successfully treat him. The boy’s future is looking much brighter, and Julie was even able to meet up with him in India, where she gained an even greater appreciation for his experiences.

“I wasn’t prepared for the love I’d feel for him. Meeting the boy whose photos I knew so well was both harrowing and uplifting. I was amazed to see him so thin. By the time I was due to leave, I was an emotional wreck and just didn’t want to go,” Julie said.
