Girl Kidnaped, Raped - Situation Gets Even More Disturbing

A Christian family in West Africa were horrified to find out that their 14-year-old daughter was kidnapped when she was walking home from school. The local Muslims don't approve of the girl's family, or religion. The girl was found mutilated and is fighting for her life.

The young girl, known only as Lydia, was snatched on her way home. Someone heard the girl's screams and ran to help when they found her lying in a pool of blood. Her captors abandoned her, but not before they mutilated the teen girl's genitals.

According to UNICEF, Female Genital Mutilation continues to be a problem in African countries, where people often view female sexuality as sinful. More than 200 million girls and women in the world have had their genitals mutilated, most of them undergoing the butchery before reaching the age of 15. Even in places where the practice is illegal, it's still widespread and performed by medical practitioners. The dangerous surgical procedure, even when done in a hospital, can lead to serious health problems, such as infection or difficulty in childbirth.

The girl was rushed to the hospital and lapsed into a coma. She remains in a comatose state.

The girl's father, Yoonus, was once a Muslim scholar. He converted to Christianity after he claims he had a vision from Jesus Christ. He joined the Bibles for Mideast missionary, a ministry that operating in the Middle East, Asia and Africa. They giving away Bibles, evangelizing and help plan and build Christian churches.

It is believed that the family was targeted for being ‘infidels.' The family were harassed by local Muslims and it was demanded that they renounce their faith, but they refused to reject Christianity.

The authenticity of the story has been questioned; the first report seems to originally have come out of the Bibles for Mideast Missionary, and it could be that the missionary is just trying to protect the identity of the victim and her family.
