Former White House Photographer Pete Souza Shares A Message And Lesson For Trump

For months now, MSNBC’s ‘Morning Joe’ has been verbally assaulting the President of the United States as much as possible. The show’s co-hosts, Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski, have taken a demonstrably anti-Trump stance, and that stance has metastasized to the point that they feel the president does not do anything right whatsoever. While that mindset plays well with Trump detractors, other folks walk away wondering how it’s possible for two well-paid hosts to be so angry so early in the morning.

President Donald Trump has stayed mainly silent about the show, outside of a few barbs here and there. That changed in a big way when he dropped a highly questionable social media post to kick the war of words up several levels.

“...to Mar-a-Lago 3 nights in a row around New Year's Eve, and insisted on joining me. She was bleeding badly from a face-lift. I said no!” read the post.

The president was quickly blasted from all sides for his post, and Brzezinski was made out to be some kind of martyr. As Elite Daily shares, Pete Souza, a former photographer of former President Barack Obama, was among the many that weighed in. Souza dropped a series of posts on social media with a simple caption, and they all showed Obama speaking with women during his time in office.

“Respect for women,” the caption read.

While there’s no question that Trump’s tweet was classless and unbecoming the office of the presidency, it’s a pretty gigantic leap to assume that he disrespects an entire gender because he felt the need to respond to being ripped to shreds on a daily basis. Of course, Souza wasn’t the only one to be throwing shade at the president, as his post inspired an endless parade of commentary.

“It’s a sad day for America when the president spends his time bullying, lying and spewing petty personal attacks instead of doing his job,” read a post from MSNBCPR.

There are some fair points in there, but it’s also a sad day for America when a network becomes so consumed with advancing an anti-Trump agenda that it makes itself into the story.

“The president is a hurtful, bullying, boorish, ridiculous, undignified, childish a**hat. And it hurts to say that,” read a post from author Stephen King.

The legendary author is certainly entitled to his opinion, but he’s enough of a wordsmith that he can get his point across without resorting to name-calling, no?

“Mr. President, your tweet was beneath the office and represents what is wrong with American politics, not the greatness of America,” read a post from Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC).

Graham is spot on, as this is the problem with the whole thing. The President of the United States should not be engaging in a war of words on social media. Period. This never becomes a thing if he resists the urge to respond, and there’s a gigantic lesson in there if he chooses to see it.

As for the 'Morning Joe' gang, there once was a time when Scarborough and Brzezinski were being ridiculed for having a close relationship with Trump. Obviously, that wouldn’t fit in with their network’s current agenda, so they have shifted gears in ridiculously transparent fashion. Any attempts to paint this pair as being somehow noble in what they stand for is downright laughable.

Souza seemed to send Trump a message about respect for women.
