Flight Attendant Abruptly Tells Mother She Needs To Get Off Flight, Stunned Until She Realizes Why

Peggy Uhle was about to depart on a flight from Raleigh-Durham to Chicago when her plane taxied back to the gate. That’s when she was approached by a flight attendant who asked her to get off of the plane, Fox New Travel reports.

"I figured I was on the wrong plane,” Uhle said, according to BoardingArea.com. "The gate agent told me to check in at the desk, and when I did she told me to call my husband."

It was then that she found out that her 24-year-old son was in a coma from a severe head injury. Thankfully, the staff at Southwest Airlines stepped up to make arrangements for Uhle so she could process what was happening.

"The gate attendant already knew the situation and had booked me on a direct flight to Denver that was leaving in the next two hours," Uhle said.

Southwest Airlines employees then escorted Uhle to a private waiting room. They rerouted her luggage, so it would be sent to where she was staying. They allowed her to be the first to board the plane and even packed her a lunch for when she got off the plane in Denver.

"Southwest never asked for payment for the Denver flight, luggage delivery or anything else," she wrote, according to BoardingArea.com. "The care that I was shown is second to none. We have always liked Southwest Airlines and now we can’t say enough good things about them."

Southwest even called to ask how her son was doing. She told BoardingArea.com that her son’s condition has improved, but didn’t elaborate further. It’s nice to know that there are companies out there who still treat their customers with respect and dignity.
