Father Does The Unthinkable After Daughter Warns Him About Some Of The Boys At Her School

Your daughters, sisters, wives, mothers, female friends. One out of three of them will have experienced physical or sexual violence in their lifetime, usually at the hands of a male partner. Care Norway wants fathers to truly understand these statistics and created one of the most powerful videos of the year.

According to Little Things, #DearDaddy is a must-see for all. The five-minutes long video brings viewers through the different violent relationships she had with different men throughout her life.

During that time she is verbally harassed, molested, raped and almost strangled to death. The abuse all stems back to casual jokes made and behaviors that are accepted as “boys being boys.”

“I will be born a girl which means by the time I am 14, the boys in my class would have called me a w***e, a b***h, a c**t, and many other things. It’s just for fun of course, something boys do. So you won’t worry and I understand that. Perhaps you did the same when you were young, I’m sure you didn’t mean anything by it. Still, some of the other people won’t get the joke.”

Eventually, the girl begs her father not to let her brothers call girls whores, “because someday a little boy might think it’s true.” She begs him to protect her future self.

“I will be born a girl please do everything you can so that that won’t stay the greatest danger of all.”

The family gathered and prayed for Melanie. that's when her brother, a doctor, arrived and reviewed her records. He realized that Melanie was suffering from internal bleeding by an artery left open in her womb.

Melanie was rushed into surgery and they found most of her blood had drained into her abdomen. After that, nearly 24 hours after being declared dead, Melanie opened her eyes.

The new mother wasn't out of the woods yet. Melanie needed more surgery, and doctors were sure she would need a heart and/or a lung transplant due to the embolism. If she did survive, they believed she would have neurological impairments.

Doug got to spend a few moments with his wife to share his feelings and show her a picture of their healthy baby girl, Gabriella. She was then transferred to another hospital for surgery. Things were bleak.

After surgery, Melanie began to make a quick and thorough recovery. She needed no transplants, she's off her medication, has no neurological problems and she's enjoying her baby girl. The family attributes her recovery to the power of prayer.
