Family's Worst Fears Confirmed After Friend Takes Picture At Birthday Party

A mom was looking through some old family photo albums and came across her child's birthday party. Three years ago, the family held the small party in their home, which they thought was being haunted by a little boy. As the mom looked at the photos, she spotted a ghostly image in a mirror behind her that she had never noticed before. She now thinks the party had one uninvited guest.

Sally Watts was looking at a photo of her family that was snapped three years ago, and she only recently realized that there is an unidentified figure standing behind her. The mother of six believes the figure to be that of a ghost boy that haunted the family's home.

The family was celebrating daughter Grace's 10th birthday. Three of the kids were sitting on the sofa, which had a large mirror hanging over it. In the reflection of the mirror, you can see Watts walking in with the birthday cake, topped with burning candles. If you look closely, you can see what looks like an ashen-colored child behind her.

"Charlotte and I were looking through the photos later and then I noticed the child behind me in the mirror. It completely freaked us out," said Watts. "I did wonder if there anyone missing, but there was only one child not in the picture but sat on the other sofa where I could see."

As her daughter became frightened, the mom promised to find an explanation for the photo. The more the family tried to identify the photo, the more they were stumped.

"There were only five kids there at the party and they were only there in the room. Charlotte was taking the picture and my other son Eddie was away camping," she said. "There's literally no explanation for it. We were trying to work out what had happened, trying to re-enact it without scaring the kids."

Mrs. Watts always thought the house that the family had lived in at the time was haunted. Throughout their 12 years of living there, she says they experienced many unexplainable happenings.

"He never did anything threatening or nasty. It was just silly things, so many things," she explained. "Things would move, I'd hear 'Mum' called and it wasn't the children. I used to blame Charlotte. One minute you'd be watching the EastEnders omnibus and then you'd have to be putting tools away."

Watts says it became a normal part of life at the home. A medium who once visited told them it was the spirit of a small boy. "She walked through the house and said about a little boy, and that he's so happy, and that I needed to stop blaming Charlotte for things he was doing. He was trying to get our attention. I think the only reason I didn't get so freaked out was because it was a child. Your mothering instinct kicks in - you care," Watts recalls.

Watts now has a spooky memento of her old home, and its other resident. She knows some people believe that the image is a hoax, and she doesn't care what others think.

"I really don't have the time to sit and do things like that, I work and have five kids. It's a genuine photo, if anyone can put an explanation on it I'm fine with that," she says.

"I'm not asking people to believe. There's just no explanation for what we caught on camera," Watts concluded.
