Family Realizes The Horrific Mistake They Made An Hour After Getting Home From Grocery Store

A family in Lauderdale, FL is dealing with an unspeakable tragedy after their 11-month-old baby passed away after being left unattended in a hot jeep. According to the Mirror, the child was left alone after the family had finished unloading groceries from the vehicle.

The family had returned from grocery shopping and proceeded to unload their Explorer Jeep and go on about their business. At least an hour would pass before they realized the 11-month-old had been left behind in the vehicle. The Lauderhill Police Department responded to the scene, and found an extremely distraught family in need of help.

“When we arrived here the family members, the mother and the father were still in the act of administering CPR themselves,” said Lt. Gregory Solowsky.

The child was rushed to the nearby Plantation General hospital, but would unfortunately be pronounced dead. It’s not clear if charges will be filed, but the family has remained cooperative despite being out of their minds with grief over their tragic loss.

“We are in the process of interviewing all family members as well as all the neighbors inside the apartment complex and piecing together specific timelines,” Lt. Solowsky said.
