Family Opens a Presumed Holiday Package and Receives an Unexpected Surprise

An Arlington, Texas family recently moved into a previously vacant home. With the holidays in full gear, they were expecting packages but not the one waiting for them on their front door step.

On Wednesday, they opened up a suspicious-looking box that contained 7 pounds of marijuana. The address was correct, but the recipient's names did not match the homeowners. Once they realized what the "green leafy substance" was, they immediately contacted the police.

Arlington Police Department spokesman Christopher Cook told the Fort Worth Star Telegram, "The family was a little shook up and surprised. They don't want anybody obviously coming looking for a package now."

Cops seized the weed and it's now in the hands of U.S. Postal Service inspectors, who are investigating the incident. Cook believes that someone may have been sending the packages to the house while it was vacant.
