Family Always Believed House Was Haunted, But Does This Picture Prove It?

One family spent years wondering if their house was haunted, or if they just had over-active imaginations. Some of the strange happenings that were going on were hard for them to dismiss. Years later, when living in another home, they were browsing through their old photo albums. They noticed something captured in a birthday party picture that they had never noticed before. They think it's the proof they've been looking for to show that they weren't the only residents of their old home.

Sally Watts says that in an old photograph of her daughter's 10th birthday party, she noticed the image of a ghostly guest. The mother of five says that it was her daughter Grace's birthday and the mom was just delivering a cake, glowing with candles. Her daughter Charlotte took a snapshot of her. In the mirror behind Mrs. Watts, there is the face of what the family believes is a little ghost boy.

The figure is just standing there, watching the festivities. He looks young and has less coloring than all the other individuals in the photo. No one remembers seeing this boy at the party. Mrs. Watts knows it's not one of her own children, and none of the family recognize him as a guest.

As creepy as it is, the image makes sense to the Watts family. For years when they lived in that home, they thought it was haunted by the spirit of a young boy.

"He never did anything threatening or nasty. It was just silly things, so many things," said Watts to the Daily Mail. "Things would move, I'd hear 'Mum' called and it wasn't the children. I used to blame Charlotte. One minute you'd be watching the EastEnders omnibus and then you'd have to be putting tools away. She had a rocking horse that used to neigh and make clip-clop sounds when you pressed it. It used to go off all the time. So we took the batteries out, but it went off anyway. That's just how it was, it became normal."

A medium once told the family that a young boy's spirit inhabited the home. "She walked through the house and said about a little boy, and that he's so happy, and that I needed to stop blaming Charlotte for things he was doing. He was trying to get our attention. I think the only reason I didn't get so freaked out was because it was a child. Your mothering instinct kicks in - you care," Watts said.

"A neighbor overheard a conversation we'd been having and said his mother used to live in our house," Watts adds. "We found out his name was Anthony. We'd already named him, we used to call him Michael."

Mrs. Watts has been accused of doctoring the photo to perpetuate a hoax. She doesn’t care what other people think, though, or whether they believe the photo is authentic. She’s satisfied with it. “I'm not asking people to believe. There's just no explanation for what we caught on camera,” she said.
