Factory Workers Shocked When They Uncover A Baby That Had Been Buried

Authorities in Africa report that workers at a factory found a newborn infant crying in a shallow grave on the factory's property. They managed to dig him up and he was rushed to the hospital for emergency care. Amazingly, the baby was in the grave for three whole days.

A young woman from Paddock, in KwaZulu-Natal Province of South Africa, had given birth to the baby. The 25-year-old single mother already had one child and lived with her parents. She was afraid that her parents would be angry with her for having another baby, so she hid her pregnancy and subsequently tried to hide the baby.

The woman’s name is being withheld to protect her identity. According to reports, the young mother gave birth, then dug the shallow grave on the property of the factory at which she worked. She placed the baby in the grave and covered him up with sand and timber, then left the baby there.

Three days later, some workers heard crying. They unearthed the baby and called authorities. The distraught mother finally came forward and confessed that the child was hers and that she had buried him alive.

The baby is now in the intensive care unit at the Port Shepstone Regional Hospital, fighting for his life. It's amazing that he survived alone and buried at all.

The mother was also taken to the hospital and later released. Authorities have not announced yet whether they plan to charge her or not, or whether she'll be reunited with her infant.

Considering the fact that she tried to kill her own baby to keep herself out of an uncomfortable situation, the woman should consider herself lucky if she doesn’t end up rotting in jail. At the very least, she’ll hopefully lose custody of her own child. After all, if she’s capable of viciously murdering her own baby, who knows what she’s capable of?
