ESPN Fires Curt Schilling For His Speech On Public Bathroom Use

Recently, ESPN fired baseball analyst Curt Schilling for stating that males don't belong in the women's room and females don't belong in the men's room. Network spokesman Josh Krulewitz stated, “ESPN is an inclusive company. Curt Schilling has been advised that his conduct was unacceptable and his employment with ESPN has been terminated.”

The company essentially fired him for his speech, and not his conduct.

On his Facebook page, the former pitcher shared a picture from another Facebook user that showed an overweight man trying to pass for a woman. It was an Internet meme that referenced North Carolina’s law restricting multiple-use public restrooms in government buildings to people whose biology matches the insignia on the entrance.

Schilling noted, “A man is a man no matter what they call themselves. I don’t care what they are, who they sleep with, men’s room was designed for the penis, women’s not so much. Now you need laws telling us differently? Pathetic.”

Late last season, Schilling was suspended when he compared Islamists to Nazis and said Hillary Clinton belongs in the big house and not the White House. He was also criticized for financially supporting Dr. Ben Carson's presidential campaign. Soon, there was pressure to fire him from SBNation, OutSports and SportingNews.

Sports commissar Jesse Spector deemed the 3,000 strikeout Curt Schilling of being guilty of "transphobia" and said ESPN keeping him on the air a “tacit endorsement of the darkness he brings.” Before he was fired, Schilling posted this on his blog: “You frauds out there ranting and screaming about my ‘opinions’ (even if it isn’t) and comments are screaming for ‘tolerance’ and ‘acceptance’ while you refuse to do and be either.”
