Encounter Between Teen And Officer Going Viral (Video)

It was the kids against the cops on the basketball court in Lafayette Indiana. According to Lafayette Journal & Courier, four Indiana State Troopers were comparing notes after a traffic stop when they were stopped by a bunch of kids.

They asked questions and the officers showed them their equipment and police cars.

“One kid had a basketball. I’m going to say he was 5 or 6,” said Trooper David Vido “He looked at Trooper Grayson. Trooper Grayson is kind of a tall guy. The kid with the basketball said, ‘I’ll bet I can take you one-on-one.’ (Grayson) said, ‘You’re on.’”

According to Video, the troopers lost.

“We did get beat, you know,” Vido said. “So, there’s that. We definitely need a rematch.”

Kristin Pearl caught the game on her cellphone and posted the video on social media where it has been viewed more than 21,000 times.

“I was coming into town to meet up with friends and just happened to drive by,” said Pearl, according to Layfayette Journal & Courier. “It was such a magical moment that I pulled over to capture it. The kids were having a blast. I’m a teacher, and I love it when the police establish community relations with children. It really does make a difference in perception of authority.”
