Encounter Between Officer And Woman Is Going Viral (Photos)

While some have been swept up by fear and confusion in the midst of the deaths of Alton Sterling, Philando Castile, five police officers in Dallas and three in Baton Rouge— others, like the two in this photo, are focusing on love and our unity as members of the human race.

A recent Facebook post has gone viral capturing the hearts of thousands who are also praying for peace. The photo of the Louisiana woman praying with a police officer from East Baton Rouge has been shared across social media more than 12,000 times, according to KPTV.com

“When God say move! God is not the Author of confusion...All I felt when I touch and agreed with him is fear he was shaking but y'all...Violence is not the answer...Bible say pray w/o Ceasing I pray that God will cover this Police Officer...and use his hands not to hurt or harm but to protect the citizens!” the photo’s caption reads.

Communities around the country are reaching out to the law enforcement that serve them to show their support during these tragic times. The Associated Press has reported that people are showing up to local police departments with flowers, delivering pizzas, cakes, sending social media messages, offering moments of silence, and just calling to say thanks.
