A 23-year-old man was quickly arrested after police put a surveillance video on social media of him allegedly slapping a child in the face with full force.

The surveillance video allegedly shows Justin Whittington running into a grocery store after the small boy who is fearfully running away from Whittington. Whittington catches up with the boy and smacks him in the face with such force that it knocks the child to the ground.

He then picks the child up off the ground before a woman nonchalantly comes up and escorts the little boy out of the Bakersfield, CA grocery store by his hand, according to KTLA.

Police were searching for Whittington and found him as soon as the video was posted online. He was charged on suspicion of assault on a child, which is a felony and his bail was set at $1 million. The child was not seriously injured.
