During The Inaugural Luncheon, President Trump Called The Clintons Out

This inauguration was hard on a lot of people who were against President Donald Trump, but it was arguably hardest on the opponent he beat: former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. Though it was difficult for them, the Clintons showed up for the inauguration in a display of dignity and grace.

Former President Bill Clinton and Mrs. Clinton found it difficult to uphold poker faces at the inauguration of Donald Trump on Friday. At some times, they looked stone-faced. Sometimes they were able to hold on to a forced smile, but at others the mask dropped and they appeared very glum. As hard as it must have been, the Clintons made it through.

Donald Trump said at the U.S. Capitol luncheon, "I was very honored – very, very honored – when I heard that President Bill Clinton and Secretary Hillary Clinton was coming here today."

The president asked the couple to stand up, and those in attendance gave the Clintons a standing ovation. Both flashed big smiles at that point, hiding how difficult it must have been for them to attend.

"And honestly," he added, "there's nothing more I can say, because I have a lot of respect for those two people," the president said.

Not everyone showed the same respect. Some overly-enthusiastic Trump supporters began chanting 'lock her up' as Hillary Clinton walked past them to take her seat for the swearing in.

Clinton, however, didn't let nay-sayers get to her. The morning before the inauguration, she tweeted, "I will never stop believing in our country & its future."

Ms. Clinton has admonished the more than 60 Democratic party members who boycotted the inauguration.
