Donald Trump Makes Shocking Claim Regarding The White House

President Elect Donald J. Trump is happy to have won the election, but hopes he won't have to go slumming it for the next 4 to 8 years in the White House. The billionaire is already trying to figure out if he can commute from his lavish penthouse apartment in New York to Washington.

Trump asked aides how many days he is required to actually spend in Washington per year. This is because the president elect is hoping that he'll be able to commute from his $100 million luxury home in New York City, rather than move into the White House with his family full time.

Melania Trump appears to be ready to bite the bullet and make the move out of the gold gilded, diamond-studded 30,000 square foot palace the couple now occupy, but her husband is not as eager. Neither is her son.

Barron Trump, age 10, attends a private prep school in Manhattan. Some speculate Barron will transfer to Sidewall Friends in Washington, D.C., where the children of presidents have been educated for nearly 40 years. Others say Barron might remain in New York with grandparents so he can remain at his current school.

Washington is a 90-minute commute from NY, which Trump plans to take by helicopter. No word on who he expects to pay for the ride - will it come out of Trump's pocket, or the taxpayer's pocket?

Trump has promised one thing that has made many people relieved: he promises not to redecorate the White House in the style of his opulent, ostentatious Versailles-inspired home. "[The White House is] gonna be clean. It's gonna be beautiful. It's gonna be well maintained. It's gonna be just like it is. I'm gonna be working — I'm not gonna be decorating," said Trump to CNN.
