Dog The Bounty Hunter Wants To Support His Wife's Career, So He's Leaving

After 12 long years on the air, a couple of bounty hunters are finally stepping out of the spotlight. The star of two series says his wife is embarking on a new career path, and it's his turn to be the supportive spouse now.

Bounty hunter Duane Lee 'Dog' Chapman is ready to wrap up his career as a reality star. His long-running A&E reality show 'Dog the Bounty Hunter' ran for eight seasons, and his follow-up show 'Dog and Beth: On the Hunt' ran from 2013 - 2015. For now, it doesn't look like the couple is planning to return to television anytime soon. Beth has set her sights on new goals, and Chapman wants to help his wife focus on her career.

Fans are sad to see the crime fighter go. The Chapmans, both bounty hunters by trade made a career of chasing down dangerous criminals who jumped bail and bringing them in to justice. They brought that career to reality television, showing the world the ins and outs of their business and their passion for justice.

Just because they're not going to be appearing in their own reality shows anymore doesn't mean the couple is done bringing in the bad guys. Beth is running for the office of president of the Professional Bail Agents of the United States.

Beth wants to ensure the bail bond industry, which she believes to be endangered, will survive. Overreaching regulations and intrusive laws have tied the hands of workers in the bail bond system and is preventing people from being able to do their jobs effectively. She plans to fight to bring solutions to the problems that are plaguing her fellow bounty hunters, inhibiting them from capturing dangerous lawbreakers.

There has been some controversy around the bounty hunter shows after recordings came to light that showed Chapman using racial epithets in the heat of the moment. However, for the most part, fans continue to have a favorable opinion of the bounty hunting couple and will be sad to see them go.

At least they have plenty of reruns to enjoy.
