Doctors Are On The Phone With Cops Seconds After Performing Blood Tests On Suicidal Rape Victim
In a terrible incident in Louisiana, a 17-year-old boy named Justin Posey has been accused and arrested for raping a 13-year-old girl in September 2015. The girl admitted herself to Lafayette hospital on October 27, 2015, when she began to have suicidal thoughts as a result of the incident. In a further horrific turn of events, after a routine blood test, doctors discovered that the unnamed victim had contracted HIV from Mr. Posey. The horrifying event occurred at the young girl’s uncle’s home on Midway Avenue, Baton Rouge, where both Mr. Posey and the girl were in attendance. The young girl told police Mr. Posey pulled her into a room at the residence, pinned down her arms on the bed and sexually assaulted her. She informed officials she tried to scream for help, but the music at the home was too loud for anyone to hear. Furthermore, the court records indicate that Mr. Posey then contacted the victim via Instagram, in an attempt to get her phone number and solicit sex.
The young girl was admitted to hospital two times proceeding the incident due to pre-existing trauma and mood disorder, where she was helped by the Children’s Advocacy Centre off Government Street (CAC). A spokeswoman from the CAC has urged that it is critical the young girl receives the right care and rehabilitation in order to recover, leaving a heartwarming message for other victims of sexual assault: “There’s hope. You’re not alone. You’re not damaged and can transform the experience of trauma into healing”.
Mr. Posey’s grandmother was living with her grandson at the time of the incident and has become very conflicted and angered over the case, saying: "It's making me upset and mad because I don't think he did it". Mr. Posey was held on a $400,000 bond and subsequently charged with third-degree rape by an East Baton Rouge Parish grand jury and may be sentenced to up to 25 years’ imprisonment.
