Ditka Weighs In On Kaepernick’s Protest: ‘Get The Hell Out’

One NFL legend had some choice words for Colin Kaepernick, and any other player who might disrespect the country by opting out of the National Anthem. The coach gave a candid interview on a radio show and refused to be 'politically correct.'

Ever since Kaepernick got attention for taking a knee during the National Anthem, rather than standing to salute the flag, many professional athletes have followed suit. Coach ‘Iron’ Mike Ditka was interviewed on 103.5 The Fan and told the radio show host and listeners just what he thought about the movement.

“I think it’s a problem... anybody who disrespects this country and the flag. If they don’t like the country they don’t like our flag... get the hell out," said Ditka.

When asked specifically about Kaepernick, Ditka admitted, "I have no respect for Colin Kaepernick – he probably has no respect for me, that’s his choice. My choice is, I like this country, I respect our flag, and I don’t see all the atrocities going on in this country that people say are going on."

“I see opportunities if people want to look for opportunity – now if they don’t want to look for them – then you can find problems with anything, but this is the land of opportunity because you can be anything you want to be if you work. If you don’t work…that’s a different problem," Ditka concluded.

While it's politically incorrect to criticize someone protesting these days, many football fans praised Ditka for saying what they wish more people would say.
