Dark Secret Grandma Kept Revealed After Baby's Blood Test Results Come Back

When Hayden and Taylor Shaw’s 9-month-old son Kobe died, they assumed that it was due to complications with him being born with an underdeveloped brain. Doctors told the couple that he would die within five years. However, after toxicology reports came back they found that the baby died from a methamphetamine overdose, which authorities believe was at the hands of his grandmother.

The couple recently moved into Taylor Shaw’s mother’s house when she woke them up in the middle of the night.

“She had walked in, she walked over to his crib and she said, 'He's blue, Taylor, he's blue!'” Taylor Shaw told Alive 11.

Her mother, Tonya Monroe, reportedly ran away screaming and crying “no.” Investigators believe Monroe forcibly gave the child meth, because it would have been impossible for the baby to get into it himself. After the incident, Monroe fled and is on the run from authorities. Monroe reportedly had been arrested for meth in the past, Alive 11 reports.

Taylor Shaw, who was raised by her grandmother, believed her mother was clean and wanted to give her a chance to be a part of the child’s life. Police have not come up with a motive as to why the grandmother allegedly killed her grandson. The parents are gravely distraught.

“I could still have my son,” Taylor tearfully told Alive 11. “We could have spent Mother’s Day with him, Father’s Day. And his birthday. His [first] birthday was May 31st.”
