Dad Saves His Daughter From Alleged Predator

A California father awoke at 2 a.m. Monday, just in time to pull his 12-year-old daughter out of the clutches of an alleged online predator.

The girl met the 27-year-old suspect on social media, according to Opposing Views. The man reportedly coaxed the child out of her house by promising her gifts.

Tim LeBlanc told reporters that he always gets up in the middle of the night to check on his kids. When he walked into his daughter’s room Monday morning, he found her gone and the bedroom window open. He jumped into his truck and found the girl with the suspect down the street.

“As soon as my daughter saw my truck, she must have said something, because as soon as I saw them, she, like, came away and started backing away, and he started trying to go the other direction,” LeBlanc said. “I came around the corner, got out, apprehended him.”

If the father had arrived just a minute later, the child might have been in the predator’s SUV. The vehicle’s back door was open, according to NBC San Diego. “I probably wouldn’t have a daughter if I hadn’t caught this,” LeBlanc said.

The Riverside Sheriff’s Department took the suspect to jail and filed felony charges against him.
