Dad Notices Couple Watching His Daughter - Server Hands Him This Note

On Valentine’s Day in 2015 one single dad did not have anyone special in his life to celebrate with. So he decided to take his six-year-old daughter out for a special dinner. Even though money was tight, he decided to take her to her favorite place, the Old Spaghetti Factory, where they had a wonderful meal together.

The dad told his daughter funny stories, and they giggled and had a fun time as they shared a Valentine’s dinner. After finishing up their entrees and sharing a dessert, the dad got his bill and was getting ready to pay. However, he turned the bill over and saw a note scribbled on the back.

Some people are negative about single parents. These critics often argue the single parents are putting their interests before those of the children because they didn’t stay together “for the kids.” But this simply is not true in the vast majority of the cases.

It turned out that an older couple seated nearby had seen the single dad spending Valentine’s Day with his six-year-old daughter, and were impressed. The couple noted how much fun the father and daughter were having, and wanted to let the father know they appreciated what he was doing.

The couple decided that they wanted to share in the kindness that night, so they paid the tab for their dinner. The couple’s generous gesture and kind note left the man crying in front of his daughter.

Here’s what the kind couple wrote on the back of the Old Spaghetti Factory check:

Hi there!

Sorry to spy, but my husband and I saw you out with your little date and were so impressed with what a great Dad you are.

From two adults who grew up without dads, it’s so important to have a male role model at a young age.

Keep up the good work Dad! Dinner is on us!

The dad couldn’t hold back his tears and started crying like a baby. The note made him feel truly appreciated after he had been trying so hard to raise his daughter right.
