Dad Acts Quickly After Bullies Attack His Daughter, Leave Her Like This (Video)

A Phoenix, Arizona father is furious and is protesting in front of his daughter's school. His daughter was suspended for fighting in school, but the father says his daughter was attacked by bullies and only defending herself. He's hoping his protest will raise awareness.

Markus Hines told ABC 15 that girls from his daughter's School had been cyber bulling her. When his daughter went to confront them at Betty Fairfax High, they violently attacked her.

A video taken by cell phone shows some of the fight. Hines' daughter is dragged by her hair and left gasping on the floor. All students involved in the fight, including Hines' daughter, were suspended.

Hines says he tried to talk to the school and the district about the bullying, but the problem was ignored. So, Hines picked up a sign and began picketing.

“I felt like this was the best thing that I could do to do to spark some conversation. I wanted parents with the kids driving up to see me and maybe there's another kid that's getting a ride with their parents that's getting bullied,” said Hines.

A spokesperson for the Phoenix Union released a statement: "According to state statute and policy, students, parents and staff at the start of each school year are instructed to report any bullying to school officials. Any staff member who becomes aware of or suspects that a student is experiencing bullying must immediately notify administration. Each allegation is investigated, and discipline and/or interventions and counseling are administered. A school can only act upon bullying when it becomes aware, or is notified of such activity.”
