Customer Notices Girl Walking Oddly At Walmart - Immediately Calls Police After Realizing Why (Photos)
Most people butt out when it comes to other parents and how they want to raise their kids. But not Erika Burch. She realizes that it’s 2016 and we can no longer abuse our children in the name of discipline.
According to Daily Mail, she was shopping in a Walmart in Texas when she saw a child being abused and she had to stop and say something. What she saw was far too much for her to ignore. She witnessed a man who was dragging a little girl around the store by her hair. She said the child’s hair was “wrapped around the buggy” as she cried for him to let her go.
“I promise I won't do it again! Please stop!” Burch said the little girl shrieked.
Burch was so appalled by what was going on that she snapped a bunch of photos of the man in the act before demanding that he let the child go. He barked at her to mind her own business.
“No I'm not! Right now this little girl is my business and you need to let her hair go now!” she told him.
She then flagged down a police officer who called the sergeant to the Cleveland Police Department. Burch, however, wasn’t satisfied. She was told by the sergeant that the man “has a right to discipline his children” and that for it to be “abuse there had to be bodily injury to the child.” However, they eventually changed their tune after the community stood up for the girl and against parents who are too lazy to properly parent their children.
Authorities say Child Protective Services are also involved in the investigation. The department posted on Facebook that they got several calls about the incident.
“We want to ensure the community this case is currently being investigated by our Detective Division,” the post read. “The department said that Child Protective Service (CPS) 'has been contacted per our policy and is also investigating this case.”
