Customer Goes Above And Beyond For Homeless Woman (Photos)

A simple act of kindness at a Raising Cane’s restaurant in California has turned into a bit of a viral sensation. According to Opposing Views, a stranger provided a homeless woman with a much-needed hot meal, and the resulting reaction was priceless.

Carmen Mendez was out for a bite to eat with her boyfriend Fred at the restaurant. The couple would notice a homeless woman that was going through the dining room begging for scraps, and that struck a chord with Carmen.

"Not one person said yes, they all ignored her and threw it away, it broke my heart. I have been volunteering with the homeless now for many years… they don’t repulse me or make me sick to my stomach. I hold them all with so much love," she later shared on Facebook.

The woman eventually made her way to the couple’s table. Carmen offered up what she had leftover, but she felt she needed to do more. She went ahead and purchased a meal for the woman, who was genuinely overcome with gratitude.

"That hug she gave me was like a hug I had never felt… those tears she shed were felt deep in my heart," Carmen said.
