Crews Preparing The Cabin For Oncoming Passengers Stop Dead, How Did These Parents Forget This Sleeping Child?

Almost all experienced travelers have left items behind on an airline flight before, typically items like a jacket, purse or laptop computer.

However, two parents in China recently made the mind-boggling mistake of leaving their 10-year-old daughter behind on a flight. It turned out the girl had fallen asleep in a seat in the back and had not disembarked from the aircraft.

According to a press release from AirLive.net, the unidentified parents were traveling with their daughter and another child on a China Southern Airlines flight when the flight landed at Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport after flying in from Chengdu.

Crew members believed that all of the passengers had disembarked from the plane, so they started to clean the aircraft. Before long, an airline employee was shocked when he discovered a young child asleep in the back of the plane.

When the staff members woke up the girl, they requested she give them her parents' contact information so they could let them know about their mistake. The little girl gave the employees a phone number and the parents were called.

Of note, AirLive.net even posted a pic on Twitter of child sleeping on the plane after being discovered alone (face is obscured to protect her identity).

According to the girl’s father, he and his wife assumed their daughter would follow them off the plane because they were worrying about their other child and collecting their luggage.

Although it is quite rare for parents to forget their children on airplanes, kids do get lost or abandoned semi-frequently at airports.

For example, back in December of 2016, a mom and dad reported that their 12-year-old daughter had been left unattended at George Bush Intercontinental Airport in Houston after flight attendants from United Airlines who were assigned to her in the unaccompanied minor program disappeared.
