Creator Of Realistic Sex Robots Wants To Have A Baby With His Mechanical Girlfriend

There was a time when 'sex dolls' were cheesy plastic inflatable balloons. Someone wealthy could splurge on a rubber mannequin.

A Spanish engineer has built a top-of-the sex robot that has what he calls 'physiological intelligence'. His robots are so realistic and complex, that he believes they make as good of a companion as humans-- if not better.

He's actually hoping to start a family with his, and one day he believes others will feel the same.

Sergi Santos is an engineer from Spain who created 'Samantha', a sex robot that was made available to the public in 2017. His dolls stand out from previous life size sex toys because they actually have personalities.

They can be programmed to be shy or outgoing, to be interested in any number of topics, and you can't just use these bots as toys. They have to be seduced.

She’ll tell you if she likes when you’re getting romantic, or if she wants you to leave her alone.

More and more humans will stop stashing their sex toys in the back of a closet, he predicts. Those who have trouble finding love with other humans can have their very own robot built to their specifications.

They can decide how they want it to look and what kind of personality it will have. Santos believes people will begin living openly with their robotic lovers, go out for walks and even walk down the aisle with them.

Because they are ‘hyper-realistic’, and so lifelike, he believes robots will become socially acceptable and welcomed into human circles. His vision resembles something that has been seen in a number of popular science fiction movies and television shows over the years: robots living lives side-by-side with humans, granted rights and treated like everyone else.

Santos, who resides in Barcelona with his own Samantha, says he thinks the robot's potential as a partner are unlimited. “People might look at Samantha as a weird thing you read about," he notes.

"But before they know it, these robots will be doing their jobs, and marrying their children, their grandchildren, and their friends.”

The engineer wants to have a baby with his own robot, and he claims he can do it.

“I can make them have a baby. It’s not so difficult. I would love to have a child with a robot.”

Santos explains that he could program the robot to have morals, values, a concept of beauty, justice, and just about everything else that is currently unique to humans.

He could then make algorithms of the robots concepts and 'shuffle it' with his own. The final step would be a '3D print' of it-- a robot baby.

“That’s it. I 3D print the robot that is the child of me and the robot … I don’t see any complications.”

Santos is already married; his wife of 16 years knows all about Samantha and has no problem with her husband's mistress. She even helps him in the lab developing prototypes.

The idea of artificial intelligence taking over has been fodder for horror movies for decades. Santos believes it will happen one day, and that our machines will inherit the earth. However, he says there's no danger of that happening anytime soon.
