Couple Is Stunned When Waitress Gives Them This Instead Of A Bill

After terrible floods in Rocky Point, West Virginia, one family jumped in to do their part and help. After a hard day's work trying to secure donations, they stopped at a restaurant for a quick bite to eat. They busied themselves with phone calls and note-taking when the waitress came over and gave them something that made them stop in their tracks.

Chris and Dreama Richards explained to their waitress when they sat down to eat that they would be on their phones. “We were on our cell phones a good bit while in the restaurant, so I told her that we were not being rude, just trying to coordinate efforts with donations,” Dreama said in a Facebook post.

They repeatedly apologized to the young waitress, but she waved them off and told them to do what they needed to do. She said she even had family herself who were impacted by the disastrous floods. Her husband’s 87-year-old grandmother lived in one of the flood areas, and there was no news yet about whether she was okay or not.

The floods were terrible and had paralyzed parts of the state. People were left homeless, lost their belongings and were in dire need of basic necessities.

The couple began getting themselves together to leave, and they asked the waitress for the bill. Instead of a check, she brought them a note that shocked them and warmed their hearts.

“Please take the money you would have spent on dinner tonight and use it to buy supplies. I know it isn’t much, but I know every little bit helps. God bless you and stay safe,” the note read.

The good Samaritans were delighted to meet a fellow good Samaritan, and the considerate gesture did not go unappreciated. It's amazing how much people can accomplish when they come together to help each other, and it all starts with small but meaningful acts of kindness just like this.

“Sweet lady, God knows who you are, and will surely bless you! So, guess who is off to get some more stuff for the flood victims?? Made my day,” concluded Dreama’s post.
