Couple Notices Something Odd On Ultrasound - Speechless When They Realize What It Is

A couple expecting a child went in for a routine sonogram. After two complicated pregnancies, the couple were very worried about the health and safety of the latest addition to the family. After they saw the sonogram results, they felt a wave of relief. There was a good sign in the image: Jesus himself.

Zac Smith and Alicia Zeek were shocked when they got back the results of their sonogram. In with the baby appears to be an image of a bearded man who bears a striking resemblance to the good lord.

"It was a shock, I didn't actually know what to think," said Zeek.

The religious couple say that the image was comforting to the family. During her two previous pregnancies, she suffered complications.

Whether it was a coincidence or some kind of sign, things worked out for the family. Their newborn baby girl was born healthy and happy.

"It was a needed comfort for sure, but now I kinda think that she'll do big things," said Zeek. "We both feel like she has a special purpose or, like, she's going to do something great."

This couple is pretty lucky. There are a lot of people who have spotted images in their sonogram print-outs, and not all of them were as good a sign as Jesus. Some expectant parents were freaked out to see a face that resembled a horned demon watching over their baby.

If you do see a scary face looming over your unborn child, you really don’t have any reason to fear. It’s a well-known phenomenon called pareidolia. This is when the human mind attempts to seek out patterns where there are none. This is why we're are always seeing shapes in clouds, wood grain patterns and on our partially burned French toast.

That may come as a relief to those who are haunted by the skull-like faces showing up in the womb. But some people actually like the idea of something being in there with the baby. In one ultrasound, a woman swears she can see the face of her mother. Her mother passed away just a year earlier. She was always sad that her mother couldn't be around for her pregnancy, so the face in the ultrasound brought her great joy. She truly believes that grandma was watching over the baby for her whole pregnancy.

Some things that people spot in ultrasound exams are just bizarre. Amused parents end up with a great picture to share and a story that they can tell for years to come. One couple spotted what looked like a mermaid swimming around their unborn daughter. They were happy to know she had a playmate.

In another family’s ultrasound, someone spotted the face of Michael Jackson watching over the child. This was soon after the King of Pop had passed away. I guess if they were Jacko fans, this could have been good news.

One family is sure that there was a Mario Brothers turtle lurking in the womb with their baby, who was clearly a future gamer.
