Couple Asks Not To Be Seated Near Cops - Cops Respond Surprisingly (Photos)

A group of police officers in Pennsylvania were having a meal at a restaurant when they noticed a couple of diners. The couple moved in fear as far away as they could from police. To ease their concerns, the police paid their bill.

Eat N' Park server Jess Meyers recounts the Saturday incident: "A table goes to sit down and the guy looks over at one of the police officers and was like, 'Nah I don’t want to sit here.' So they got moved completely opposite, away from the police officers."

Officer Chuck Thomas of Homestead police noticed the move, and the looks on the two people's faces. He said to them, "It's okay sir. You won't have to worry about it, we won't hurt you."

The face on the man showed he wasn't convinced. The man walked away, refusing to sit near the officers.

The officers asked Meyers for the couple's check and popped for the $28.50 bill out of their own pockets, and left a $10 tip to the server as well. Scrawled across the receipt were the words, "Sir, your check was paid for by the police officers that you didn't want to sit next to. Thanks for your support."

No word on how the couple took the gesture.
