Couple Arrested After Truth About Their Sleepovers Comes To Light

California police are notifying the public that a Santa Clarita couple who allegedly molested eight children during the last 15 years may have victimized others, and are asking any victims to let the police know.

Of note, the couple, Jacqueline Wadsworth, 32, and Francisco Avendano, 42, were arrested earlier this spring on charges of abusing two children, according to a report from The Santa Clarita Valley Signal.

Police recently announced that their ongoing investigation has identified six more probable victims, and say they are hoping other cases will be brought forward.

Sergeant Brian Hudson of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department’s Special Victims Bureau noted in an interview with local media: “Our fear is that there are other children victimized by this couple. It’s a horrific story.”

Moreover, the investigation has led to the discovery of abuses of boys and girls by Avendano as far back as 2001. The ages of the victims range from three to 17.

12-Year-Old Boy Reported Abuse At Sleepover

Apparently, the investigation started when a 12-year-old boy told his mother he was abused at a sleepover at the molester’s home. Avendano and Wadsworth (who have children of their own) are alleged to have instigated abuses at several sleepovers.

Police also highlight the suspects have lived in several locations around the Santa Clarita Valley over the last 15 years, and note they are concerned the couple may have assaulted other children across the area during that period.

“They lived in Canyon Country at a mobile home park on the 30,000 block of Sand Canyon Road, and they’ve lived in Castaic,' Hudson pointed out. “(Avendano) would befriend neighborhood children and the friends of family members, and then sexually assault them.”
