Country Superstar Toby Keith Slated To Perform At Inauguration Kickoff Bash

There’s been an endless amount of chatter going on about celebrities performing at the upcoming Inauguration Day festivities, and a good portion of the entertainment world has drawn a clear line in the sand. That line is essentially serving as a ‘cross at your own peril’ warning to celebs that may be on the fence, but at least one country music superstar could care less about that.

As Newsmax reports, Toby Keith is slated to perform at the "Make America Great Again! Welcome Celebration," and it doesn’t sound like he’s batting an eyelash at any potential backlash he may receive.

"I don't apologize for performing for our country or military. I performed at events for previous presidents Bush and Obama and over 200 shows in Iraq and Afghanistan for the USO," he said.

That’s a refreshing take from Keith, and perhaps it will also serve as a wake-up call to other members of the entertainment community that may be concerned about appearing to go against the grain. Whether you agree or disagree with a person’s political viewpoints is completely irrelevant, and those that engage in bullying tactics so that all members of the industry tow the party line should be ashamed of themselves. They’re promoting a culture of fear - which just so happens to be similar to what has many of them so worked up in the first place.
