Cop’s Body Cam Shows Baby Wheezing In It’s Car Seat Behind His Mother

A police officer's body cam captured him in the act - of kindness. The officer stopped a car, but after talking to the driver he ended up going above and beyond the call of duty to help.

Officer Kyle Cleveringa pulled over Mindy Mathewson at around 3 a.m. one night due to a broken tail light. He shone his flashlight into the vehicle and saw Mathewson's 1-year-old son strapped into his car seat, struggling to breath.

The mother explained to the officer that she was worried and was rushing her son to the hospital. Officer Cleveringa didn't delay her; he told her to be on her way and get the baby some help.

When Mathewson arrived at the emergency room, Cleveringa was right behind her. He offered to help carry her bags as she got the baby out of the car seat and he closed the car door for her. He walked her into the emergency room.

Cleveringa brought a smile to the young boy's face by playing with him. He then went out to his car to retrieve a toy tractor from his trunk, and gave it to the baby to pass the time in the waiting room.

Mathewson took to Facebook to post an account of the incident and to thank the officer. "Could you please make sure he reads this and is made aware of how grateful we are that he pulled me over and helped me through that terrifying situation? Thank you so much Kyle!" she wrote.

The YouTube account PoliceActivity posted the body cam footage to show the entire event.
