Community Teaches Officer Lesson After Pulling Up To Their BBQ

Relations between police officers and civilians are strained, to say the least, in many communities these days. When two officers in Tennessee pulled up to a community barbecue, a lot of the attendees braced themselves in fear of what to come. Instead of giving police reason to fear, they eased their tensions.

Britton Winfree was at the Lebanon barbecue when he spotted the two officers. “I immediately think to myself, ‘aw man what now,’ thinking they must want to bother us in some way,” said Winfree on a Facebook post.

But Winfree was happy to admit that his first thought was wrong. The officers were only there to have a good time. Winfree filmed Officer Ariel Feroz Carillo remove his belt and gun, then take to the center of the field to break out some moves.

The crowd cheered on the officer as he showed off his dancing skills. Winfree admits that this is more of what communities need. “These are the things that will bring about change,” he said.

“I want to tell both of those officers thank you for setting such good examples for all the little kids that were in attendance today,” Winfree wrote, along with a video clip of the cop dancing.
